After arriving in Peneda-Geres National Park in northern Portugal with beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures we settled in our houses. The first day of work started with sunshine, too.
While the group prepared to set up the plots for sampling, the first rain arrived. Plant species were registrated in a 1m x 1m plot and the coverage was estimated.
The first plots were located in the forest and therefore had a very small species diversity.
Shrubland plots had a higher diversity compared to forest plots. The group sometimes even had to climb walls to do their work, as you can see on the photo above.
